Description
The Southern Draw Evening Primrose cigar pays homage to its namesake (primrose) one of the first flowers to bloom in spring and its name comes from the Latin word ‘primus’, which most know means ‘first’. Although it’s an early season bloomer, it has a distinct habit of only revealing its flowers in the evening, and then remains open until early the following day. The inspiration was derived from the Oenothera pallida or pale evening primrose with its satiny white flowers that leave visiting insects with a dust of lemon-yellow pollen on their bodies. The Boss Lady cultivates her garden as a haven to bees, moths, and butterflies to collect pollen and now, she can observe them working every evening, with our perfectly ripe, new blend in hand.
The Evening Primrose blend is built around a dark and earthy Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper, offering a rich canvas for the profile within. Beneath this lies a seventh-priming Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, chosen for its structure and complexity. The filler combines Honduran, Nicaraguan, and US-grown ligero tobaccos, delivering a balance of strength and bold character. This blend sets itself apart from Southern Draw’s other maduro lines by offering a more flavor-forward experience, with an emphasis on spice, earth, and roasted coffee over the molasses sweetness that hobbyists often associate with such blends from Southern Draw.
Crafted to showcase a medium-full-bodied experience, the Evening Primrose cigar is a versatile addition to Southern Draw’s growing portfolio. It offers a layered smoking experience with robust yet balanced flavors, making it a fitting choice for evening relaxation or pairing with rich beverages. Each cigar captures the spirit of renewal and reflection associated with its namesake flower, creating a memorable addition to the Southern Draw lineup.
